Montecucco looks to the future with a clear and strategic vision based on sustainability, adaptation to climate change and the enhancement of the territory’s still unexpressed potential.
Among the main projects under development is the proposal to extend the production area of the denomination, which will take shape during 2026.
The goal is to expand the production area by including higher-altitude zones within the existing municipalities, thereby increasing the average altitude of vineyards.
This decision stems from concrete needs related to climate evolution and production challenges, and aims to enable slower and more balanced grape ripening, preserve natural freshness and acidity, improve overall wine quality and enhance areas that were once considered marginal but are now increasingly suited to viticulture.
The highest area of the territory, thanks to cooler temperatures, greater ventilation and specific soil characteristics, are proving particularly suitable for producing high-quality wines, opening new perspectives for the denomination.
At the same time, the Consortium continues to invest in sustainability and agronomic innovation, strengthening its presence in international markets, developing wine tourism and enhancing territorial identity.
The future of Montecucco is therefore built on a balance between tradition and innovation, with the goal of consolidating its position among the most dynamic and promising wine regions in Italy.
