An ancient world looking to the future

Our history goes back in time. And probably also goes high in time… in fact it is the Mount Amiata that dictates the times of our territory. If the first testimonies of the area are offered by a primitive painting founded in the so called Archer’s cave, and datable between 5000 and 3000 B. C, it is however with the Etruscans that the region knew its development.

Beginning with the Etruscans, whose wine practices have been rediscovered and reproduced today, vines and wine have accompanied our people year after year, colouring the fields, preparing the tables, pledging then the survival thanks to a commerce that, at the beginning was local and limited only to the grapes, today supplies a certified wine all over the world.

In this sense we must remember at the end of the 70s the recognition of the two geographical appellations in our territory, which can be considered as forerunners of the Montecucco Appellation, which takes its definitive shape with the acquisition of the acknowledgment of Appellation of Origin in 1998.
